Great, friendly service! Didn't have to wait long order or to be served. Nice portions and quality of the meal.

My wife and I went to Cow belle and only I ate had the fish and chips and -WOW. Three very large pieces of fish, more fries than I could finish, and garlic toast. Very well worth 10.50. This place is a true American cafe. Cute waitress was very friendly. The restaurant is right across the street from the beach so it is easy to walk of your food.

My family had breakfast here over Memorial Day weekend. Old, family diner atmosphere. Our server was genuine and great. The food was pretty good for a random diner in a small coastal town. The chicken fried steak was quite delicious. Our baby made a food mess on the floor, we attempted to clean it up before we left, our server insisted that it was ok and that they would take care of it. We are always embarrassed when our baby makes a mess and very much appreciate it when we are offered help and not given dirty looks. :)

We stopped by when looking for a place to eat. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. The staff was very friendly. We will definitely come back here next time we are in town. We ordered: kids grilled cheese, turkey bacon hoagie, and chicken strips and fries.

This place deserves a better overall rating than it has! We actually couldn't find where we were initially looking for and decided to ask a local (with the cutest puppy) where he'd recommend eating lunch. He quickly pointed across the street to Cow Belle and said "fish and chips." We were sold! All four of us loved our food. I specifically got the fish and chips, they were delicious! 3 huge pieces, thick fish and not very greasy for being fried. The batter wasn't thick and gooey on the inside like at so many other places. It was served with fries and garlic bread. The clam chowder was also delicious, buttery and well salted. The service was A+! Everyone was so friendly and eager to help. Making sure we had extra sauces, napkins and utensils (we did to-go so we could eat on the beach). That also being said, this eatery is across the street from the official Rockaway beach park. There are 2-3 well kept public picnic tables right at oceans edge (by the parking lot) for an awesome view while eating some good food! This is the perfect place for a beach town. The quality, the amount of food and the price was a pleasant surprise. I wish there were more places like this at the other coastal towns where you get charged an arm and a leg for less food and less quality.

Overall I would not recommend this place to a friend. The food was extremely greasy and overpriced. We paid $60 for 4 people at this greasy spoon. Our eggs were over-cooked, the service was slow, the coffee was bad and the meal was subpar.

BREAKFAST: Popped into this diner based on Yelp reviews and proximity at 10:14 am on a Monday after the 4th of July holiday. There were at least 5 empty tables and the sign said "seat yourselves." The bus girl brought water to a table that arrived 15 minutes after we did but never acknowledged us. 23 minutes after arrival, the waitress brought us menus. In between the time that we arrived and received our menus, at least 4 sets of people walked in, waited, and walked out without being acknowledged. 27 minutes after arrival, the waitress asked us for our order. Again, there were plenty of empty tables. (A woman who worked next door came in, placed a to-go order and gave menus to other tables). The bus girl stood in back talking to the dishwasher, never helping with water or drinks. 49 minutes after arrival, we received our drinks. 60 minutes after arrival (and watching additional people walk out), we finally received our food. I'm a huge fan of diners for breakfast and this was good serviceable food. Had the biscuits and gravy combo with one fried egg and two strips of bacon. I like my bacon "fluffy" -- not crispy -- and this was thick-cut and not greasy at all. The biscuit wasn't doughy or dry and the gravy was tasty. Husband had eggs, sausage and two big, fluffy pancakes. Again, it's a diner and this fit the bill food-wise. Iced tea and coffee refills came quickly after we'd received our food (this seems to be a theme so far this trip). We weren't in a hurry, so I'd try this again and hope for better service. Food: A-OK Service: Eek.

Most have stated but I'll repeat--it's a DINER. You can judge this book by it's cover, and you'll get just what you'd expect to at the Cow Belle Cafe. We've been here twice, both at breakfast, and both times it was just okay. It's basic, traditional, rural-USA-style food from a line cook, not a chef, people. Dated kitsch decor, small town atmosphere. Our waitress was friendly and attentive but not intrusive (I don't like hovering). Hot, decent coffee with real half-and-half. The egg/meat/hashbrown/toast combos are fine, I'd skip the omlettes. Could I make it better at home? Probably, but it's still cheaper and quicker than buying the same ingredients at the local market ($$) and making it myself. If you want espresso go up the highway to the R & R Coffee cart by Lake Lytle. If you want a fancier, healthier or more organic breakfast drive to Manzanita. This place is not my first choice but the choices in Rockaway Beach are limited so it deserves at least 2.5 stars.

It was delicious! I strongly recommend the Steer burger. We went twice on our short trip because we enjoyed it so much. They were the only reliable cafe on the street. Others were always closed down despite their hours still showing they'd be open. Friendly staff and delicious food at good prices.

I'm avid biscuits and gravy seeker, and I can tell you this was awesome! Very reasonable prices, friendly server, and tasty options!

Came into cowbelle over the weekend with a group of friends and we were greeted by a friendly server. The service was alright but the food was not amazing. Our group ordered a few things including chicken strips and fries which were fine. We also ordered biscuits and gravy which received decent reviews. But my friend got the French dip and she did not like it at all. The beef in the dip was really tough in like an over cooked and reheated sort of way which was disappointing. Honestly this restaurant is nothing special just plain traditional American food.

right across from the beach! super cheap, sweet waitress, and delicious country style cookin with local ingredients. the place is a little old fashioned with lots of locals hanging out. Favs: biscuits and gravy, fish n chips, and their burgers! yummy.

We love this greasy spoon, and we always make it a point to visit when in Rockaway.

Best breakfast place within 5-10 miles. The food was average, the employees were very friendly but under staffed the day we were there.

Looking for a place to eat Monday morning this seemed to be the spot. Service was good and our server was friendly and personable. The locals hang out here and they are friendly too. A little outdated but don't be discouraged by that, still very clean. Food was great, hot and a priced very reasonable. I definitely recommend this restaurant and will come back.

This little greasy spoon with the overabundance of cows is our breakfast spot in Rockaway. We don't get coffee here ( we get espresso elsewhere, after, don't be those bad carry it in to the restaurant people either) we get juice. And we eat eggs and hashbrowns and toast, maybe bacon. Do not go for anything fancy, do not go for seafood ( do that somewhere else, people, duh) just eat greasy diner breakfast, with ketchup, and it's all good. The princess likes the cows, and we like the chill servers with their small town attitude. You want haute cuisine at breakfast?? Head east to Portland. Seriously.

Small town charm and hospitality, a great place for families and travelers. You'll get basic breakfasts here and great service. The booths are all from an old Portland restaurant, reused and reupholstered. Cute cow decor and wallpaper. Easy place to go in whatever shape you're in the next morning.

Greasy spoon, loved overhearing the regulars grumble about politics at the counter. We settled into one of their vintage booths for a classic greasy spoon experience. Breakfast and lunch, breakfast looks better. I had a Fried Oyster burger- the server said they had just come in - right from Tillamook. She was really nice to us- glad we gave it a shot. Looked like a gamble.

Yah. Cows, much? Good grief. There's GOT to be a story behind all of that. The wallpaper was UH-MAZING. ate breakfast here, with my guy, the morning after the Oscars. We'd had our own "Oscar party" the night before and were in need of greasy food. We came here based on recommendations from 2 locals and were not disappointed. Let me also say that we were not necessarily expecting much. I'm not going to say that it's fair to judge books by their covers, but I knew exactly what I was in for the second I stepped through the door. At a place with several free-standing, brown, naugahyde booths from the... 50's (?) what would YOU expect? This place serves straight up diner food, which was fine. I was in the mood for something standard, so I ordered some kind of country breakfast: eggs, bacon, hash browns, 1/2 order biscuit and gravy. Boyfriend ordered one of the burgers with bacon and cheese. Nothin' fancy. My breakfast was fine. Bacon was a little overcooked, but whatevs. I've had better biscuits and gravy, but it was fine enough as well. Gravy had good flavor. I really hate it when places say their gravy is really good, but then it has, like no flavor. I don't normally order B&G, so I prolly wouldn't order it again, but it definitely wasn't the worst I've had either. Is that helpful? Moving on. Boyfriend loved his burger. The guy said they cook them well-done, which was good for my guy, but if you don't like your meat cooked all the way ;) you might want to specify beforehand. Coffee was WEAK. I really hated that. Weak coffee actually makes me TIRED, so I would not recommend getting your coffee here. Boyfriend had root beer, but only because they were out of Pepsi. Our server was an older gentleman. He was very friendly, checked on us a few times, kept our drinks filled, and brought the check at the right time. We would probably eat here again.

We liked the name and the location. Service is also pretty ok. But for food, I'd recommend to go somewhere else if you look for a little more than diner food. Nothing healthy on the menu and the shrimp salad tasted mostly like water.

If your looking for an artery clogging sort of breakfast this is your spot. I ordered an ordered an omlet an so did my boyfriend. This was about the greasiest breakfast I've had. Although if you really need to soak up the alcohol from night before then this should suit you. The cow covered wallpaper and it's campy environment made me feel like grandma's house. Had to ask for menus and never once was my coffee refilled. Service could have been much better. If you can find another place for breakfast at noon do so otherwise get in your car and drive 7 miles to Manzanita and get some good grub

Holy crap this place is outstanding! Ok the food is not healthy and if you are local I am sure its not a place you would want to eat on the daily but when you are on a trip to the coast are you are looking for some good ol fashion american style breakfast this is the place. I will make it a habit to come here more often, anytime I am in Rockaway. The entire family had a variety of breakfast items and each of us was very happy and I was please that the chicken fried steak was not to greasy in fact none of it was to greasy.

You will definitely never forget this place lol. I have never been to a restaurant that went with their theme with so much gumption! There's a complete cow decorum, from clocks to wallpaper, curtains to paintings! In its own way I found it endearing. I know for sure that this is a very popular place for locals to get breakfast after church. The staff are very jolly, boisterous, and sweet. They gave me the best country fried steak out of the 10 or twelve breakfast joints that I've tried the cfs at. It had an absolutely beautiful sounding crunch, the perfect seasoning and a REAL country-style gravy, not from powder or cans. Definitely was a WOW for me. As far as other foods there, I can only vouch for their breakfasts and say that their egg options are a-ok as are their hashbrowns. And they have the usual breakfast menu items, nothing different. Be prepared for large portions though!

We went in, sat down, after about 5 minutes somebody came by and gave us some coffee. We waited for 15 minutes for somebody to come by and take our order, but it never happened, even after trying to flag down the waiter. We left. We go to Rockaway a lot but avoid this place.

Pretty good diner type food. Our waitress was prompt, friendly and attentive. The biscuits and gravy I had were good. The biscuits were tender and fresh, the gravy seemed home made. The coffee was okay. This place didn't leaving me feeling "Grumpy" unlike another restaurant here in Rockaway Beach.

Competent but unfriendly waitress. "bowl of fruit" was syrupy sweetened stuff from a can. Guess we've been spoiled by every restaurant we've been to the last ten years in that a bowl of fruit is fresh fruit. Eggs were fine.

Cute little cafe right off the main drag. The ambiance is fun, lots of cow decor all over the place. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. Our group of four ordered clam chowder which tasted horrible, Progresso canned chowder kicks this chowder's ass. Our salads seemed to come from a bag, and the bread was only toasted on one side. I wasn't expecting fine dining, but this just plain bad.

This place is horrible - not sure what the other people were eating when they are there. My daughter ordered the pancakes with strawberries, and when she got them the berries were fermented. Yuck. Also - DO NOT GO IN THE BATHROOM. Go to the beach pancake house instead only 2 blocks down on the right

Cow wallpaper. Giant brown vinyl benches. Pink Croc wearing waitress. Seaside town. No view. Lots of locals. Chatty & Friendly. Weak coffee. OK food. COW WALLPAPER!!! I like it.

We went here two days in a row while staying in Rockaway. The food is fine, service is good, the kids liked the decor. It's a fine breakfast option.

I've been here a few times and it's always been good. Good service, good food, and cow decor everywhere. But my last visit is making me wonder if they were having an off day or if things have changed since last time I was there. It had been a couple years between visits, so I guess either is possible. We ordered take out. They charge extra for take out. We get back to our hotel and find that our orders are wrong. Both burgers. Mine was so messed up that I couldn't eat it. So I go back and tell the waitress what happened and she starts to argue with me about what I ordered. They fix my burger by just giving me new buns for my burger. I was able to scrape the dressing off the top of my cheese and bacon on the burger. Tasted a little weird since I wanted mayo. Anyway, they solved the problem but had a huge attitude about it and NEVER apologized for the error. I don't frequent Rockaway very often, but I think when I do, I will chose a better place to eat. Don't get me wrong, I know people make mistakes. We are all human, but the service I received was awful and there is NO excuse for that.
